Currently,
Asda is the only supermarket that doesn’t have its own form of loyalty scheme.
At the moment their marketing strategy is using their price match promise to
entice repeat custom from consumers. This could be something linked with the
loyalty card. Consumers would earn points when they shopped in store or online
which would amount to prizes such as money off coupons, double points rewards,
free online delivery etc. to entice customers into spending more and reaping
the rewards. Considering the campaigns and advertisements that Asda do right
now, this would involve a variety of promotional techniques to experiment in. Moreover, given that they are already in high competition amongst the other supermarkets, a new loyalty scheme could entice new shoppers during the promotional period. Something unique would also have to be added to set their loyalty scheme apart from other supermarkets.
