- Style.com is one of the most notorious fashion apps around and provides fashion news, the latest runway looks and catwalk shows all to one's tablet or smart phone. Although this doesn't necessarily have anything to do with personal styling, it's popular for a reason which suggests that users like the layout and the simplicity of the content.
- Chic Feed & Lookbook are simply an app that allows users to upload snaps of what they are wearing and allow consumers to trawl through and gather outfit inspiration. This is something that could be integrated into the styling app, whereby users can gather inspiration and make moodboards to help the app concentrate on their own personal style to deliver more personal results.
- Polyvore is a website and also an app that allows users to create moodboards of wishlists and styles they like from interior to fashion. I really like the concept of having moodboards to display your preferred style or a collection of clothing you like, so this is something I want to integrate within the app.
- Wantworthy was a website and an app (before it shut down) whereby it allowed users to save anything they desired to their online wishlist and store it. Users could create different collections of wishlists e.g. 'Summer clothes'. The idea of a wishlist is also something I would like to try and incorporate within the app.
- Closet allows users to create their own digital closets, categorize outfits and keep users up-to-date on what they've already worn. This is the initial basis of how the styling app would work.
- Stylitics is an app that helps colour co-ordinate your own wardrobe. Although this isn't a feature I had thought of putting into the styling app, it could be a way of organising a consumers own wardrobe and looks. Instead of colour matching all the clothes, the app can suggest colours that go together to help the consumer create more outfit choices.
- Mallzee is a personal styling app that asks you to select your favourite brands and select which items of clothing you like so it can get an idea of what style the consumer is into. The only problem with this app is that it is time consuming to go through all the clothing options. Plus it doesn't offer style advice or outfit suggestions.
